The core is then clad-style laminated with carbon steel layers on both sides to create a very durable, mechanically bonded sealing material. This process allows the material to withstand high-temperature applications and is designed with the strength and durability to take scrubbing, vibration, and frequent heat cycling. The graphite center layer, with good thermal conductivity, moves heat away from the source to minimize hot spots and heat buildup. The material is also preferred for its re-usability. Finished AR 925 has a perforated metal finish.
