This core is then clad-style laminated with carbon steel layers on both sides to create a very durable, mechanically bonded sealing material. Suitable for exhaust applications where scrubbing can destroy typical gasket materials, this product works well for exhaust manifold gaskets. It resists scrubbing, vibration and thermal expansion due to frequent heat cycling. Finished AR 897 has a perforated metal finish.
