Joe Longobardi had an idea to make metal-reinforced sealing materials. From this, Metal Tech Industries (MTI) was created. Processes and equipment were developed that could produce high-temperature and high-pressure gasket materials. The rest is history.
ISO 9001:1994 quality management system implemented.
Developed the ability to micro weld stainless steel down to 50 microns.
Addition of the Corseal tang products.
Addition of solid core products (Surbond).
Updated the quality system to be in compliance with ISO 9001:2000.
Began to develop a product line for heat shields.
Opened on-site, ASTM-based Material Science Laboratory, expanded the Surbond product line, and added our popular extreme temperature material – HT 514.
Certified the quality management system to ISO/TS 16949:2009.
Moved from the current 15,000 square foot facility into a brand new 40,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility in January 2016.
Certified the quality management system to IATF 16949:2016.
